Thermador SC301T wall oven - back from the dead?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi - 9 days ago we ran a self clean on our built in, hard wired oven. It ran into an issue during the clean (too hot), so I reset the breaker, at which point the oven died (door remained locked and display panel off/unresponsive).

We have a repair specialist scheduled for next week, and the oven has not been touched for over a week, but bizarrely it has come back to life this morning. The display panel is on and it appears to be heating normally.

I suspect that we might have to replace the oven soon anyway as it’s10+ years old, and this might just be a temporary respite, but I’m just curious if anybody could offer a suggestion as to why it suddenly started working again after 9 days? It's very curious!

Thks, Dave.
