Hello all, I have a GE washer model GTW860SSJ1WS that makes a grinding noise in agitate cycle only, sounds like the plastic gear is stripped . However if I lean the washer back to look under neath while it is agitating the noise goes away, stand it upright it comes back. Any ideas , Thanks ,Dave

Shot in the dark. Grease the suspension rod hangers parts 418 and 419.

you’ll need to lift rod hook up to get grease underneath.

it’s worth a try.

Did you inspect the belt? Any shavings?

Btw I’m guessing those hangers because tilting it back may have taken pressure of squeaky one.

It's not the suspension, the noise frequency matches speed of the rotor , also direct drive so no belt

Is it rubbing the floor or something on the floor?
