My oven light stopped working the other day so I bought a new one thinking it was the bulb.  I replaced the bulb but it still didn't work.  I used a VOM to test the bulbs and both had continuity between the pins.  Any idea what's going on?  Are there fuses that control this?

TIA

I opened it up and after looking at it, I'm thinking it's the controller board.  The light bulb is a 12v bulb and the controller board is a 12v board.  It has a series of relays on it so I figure the one that controls the light isn't working.  I tested the switch and it looks has continuity when the door is open and doesn't when the door is closed.  There was 1 fuse but it appears to be for power to the controller board.  I tested it and it's ok.

Thinking its the control board is just guessing,   Have you looked at the schematic?  checked the wiring?

Download the tech manual by doing a search for      "H4084*"  in the search bar.  It's there , Hope I don't sound rough, Just trying to guide you along. Guessing is not the way.

Check page 64. The oven light can be programmed. Also if you are not familiar with working on microwaves. The hi Voltage can kill your meter or you . BE CAREFUL.

I couldn't find a service manual for the H4084 and the site won't let me download the one I found for another model .  The oven light basically has 2 settings - 1 to be on all the time you're using it or 2 to be on for a few minutes after you close the door during use.  Ours was/is set to be on all the time it's being used.  It was working fine and a couple of days ago it just went out during use and I haven't been able to get it to turn on since.  It always came on when you opened the door and now it doesn't do that either.

I know a little about working with high voltage.  I used to design explosion proof electrical equipment.  We worked with size 1 through 4 combination motor starters for the petro-chemical industry.  In another division I started out on 5KV and 15KV switch gear with 3000 amps.  It took 4"x1/2" copper (2/phase) and silver plating in the joints to conduct that much power.  They had to be braced on 16" centers to keep them from flexing.  Talk about big breakers.  A guy one day had his fluke meter set to amps and went across two phases and it just disintegrated the components on the board in the fluke meter.

I am not sure what your status is in the system.  Depending on your status , determines if your are allowed to download  or not.  Try "H4808*"  I had to drop the 4 to find it  again "sorry"

@WOOKIE The user status of each forum member is under their picture/icon, tstock01 is a "Grasshopper" which have no download privileges, can't edit their post (I think), and can't attach pictures (need to put a link to a picture hosted somewhere else).   There probably are other privileges GRASSHOPPER's don't have that I'm forgetting - but that is the jest of it.

Your status is "Master Samurai Tech Alumnus", you have download abilities.

Well we traced it down to the step down transformer for the light.  Can anyone get me the Miele part number for the transformer and/or tell me where I can get one?  The manufacturer is Hahn and part number on it is BV 482 1339

TIA

It looks like Miele calls it the "lighting transformer"

I missed the EI so the Hahn part number is BV EI 482 1339

I found the part number and he's a useful link for those of you looking for exploded views and part numbers for Miele and some other manufactures.  It's a german site so you need to right click and select "translate to english" to get google to translate the page.  I was able to buy the transformer directly from Miele.

By the way if once you translate to english you have to click on the chevron < a couple of times to get the explode views to work and the number references get a little flakey with google translate on the part table below the exploded views.

Genial! Herzliche Glückwünsche!
