Whirlpool Fridge: freezer light switch vs ice maker noise

Tl;DR pressing the freezer light switch makes the ice maker to make a noise.

This is a weird one (I think). I have a whirlpool fridge model WRF535SWHZ00, I had problems with the freezer gasket being deformed and letting moisture to go in and ice up around the light switch making the switch to get stuck closed. I replaced the gasket, now it seems it's doing it again after 1 year.

I noticed a noise coming from the ice maker, so I was removing the ice build up around the light switch and the switch got release and popped open which made the noise go away. I kept pushing the switch and confirmed that when the switch is almost closed (horizontal) , it triggers the ice maker noise, but when the switch angle is anywhere between 20-90° the noise stops.

I disconnected the ice maker and the noise went away completely. Plugged it back in and the noise came back. Then I unscrew the light bulb and didn't help.

My theory is that the switch either got corroded or there's still ice/water on the switch and it's shorting something that's making the ice maker to make said noise.

Have you seen anything like this before? Anything else I should try before dismantling the entire fridge? thanks.

In older refrigerator the light switch control power to the ice maker and light. When you open the door the cut power to the ice maker and routes power to the light.  From your description there is an ice maker problem like it is jammed.
