DIY flooring preventing dishwasher removal

Recommended Posts

I have a dishwasher that I need to remove to repair but the previous homeowner laid 3/4" hardwood in front of the dishwasher.

Whirlpool Quietpartner II - 23 7/8 W x 33 7/8 H

RO - 24 W x 33 3/4 H

When I remove the kickplate I have confirmed that the depth of the flooring is 3/4".  The leveling foot on the right is somewhat accessible but the one on the left is difficult to get to.  What a pain for such as small difference in clearance!

The obvious options are - remove wood or lift the countertop .  What have you guys experienced is the best route to go?  I appreciate your help.

eds totally right on this. Be careful trying to move the counter up . The plumbing is connected to the sink and when you move that counter up , the plumbing is forced to move also. Not a good idea. a bad leak can be created at the plumbing under the sink and you wont know it till your gone. Take eds advice on this one and dont make the customers problem yours.

Exactly this

walk away , call me when you get it out and I’ll fix it for you

I’ve had places where they cut out the first couple of rows of timber so they can be removed if the dishwasher need repairs and can be dropped back into place after

Model # n what’s a The part your intending to replace. Should be able to use a 7/32 socket on top off leveling leg to retract. N if you manage to pull unit out add 3/4 plywood to bring unit to level.
