Tried to instal W Pool DW  yest. Are all of these top edge of door controls supposed to work with door open and then machine starts when you close the door? The instructions certainly don't make that clear. Could find NO WAY to get controls to allow cycle selection or anything else with the door open. What am I missing? The counter top is perhaps more overhang than average at 1.5" but I can't be the only person running in to that issue. WTH? Finally gave up on any normal instal and drilled holes right thru DW tub into side cabinets. Machine sticks out about 2" but at least can be used. Guess I'm retarded or something!? I don't get it................?

That's how my Bosch machine works.

Machine was a gift to my sister from realtor for buying a house.  I live 3 hours away and it was either that or leave it loose. My friend that said I am an idiot and should read the directions also has a Bosch. I guess the realtor should have given her a Bosch! instead of W Pool. The holes through tub are outside of the water seals.

FIXED - OK so W Pool took care of the issue on phone. Controls had to be "re-set" begining with turning off breaker for a couple minutes. Then they went through how to get it working with my sister on phone. When I came back to install a new water heater I shoulved the Dishwasher back into the cabinet to make body of it flush with the front of cabinet boxes. The two holes I drilled thru the plastic tub were no different than the side mount holes with "knock outs" or whatever just a half inch or so further back so I used the same holes with the stainless deck screws. Paper instructions could have been much clearer IMO. The newer Washers / Dryers all seem to have these uneeded "count downs" B 4 machine actually does something. Seems counter intuitive and serves no purpose that I can see. Why would I want or need to hold the start button on a clothes dryer while a digital display counts down 3-4 seconds and then once the count down is done there is a "pregnant pause" B4 the damn thing starts working!? I don't get it. Alright bring on the tung lashings!
