Frigidaire Model# FFHB2740PP5A  Has me stumped. The auger motor spontaneously turns on for about 3 minutes and then off for about the same and back on again. The control pad on the door seems to function properly. Water works normally if motor is running or not. The trap door and crush / cube solenoid seem to be good as well. Opening the door seems to be the only way to stop the motor. Does anyone have any ideas what to do?

bigW,

If the auger motor runs and the trap door opens at the same time then I would suspect the user interface board is the problem. If the auger motor runs and the trap door is not opening an closing as the motor runs and stops than the power board probably has some issue causing the auger motor the cycle on and off. To verify my suspicions I would remove the wire harness connection from the user interface to the power control board at the J9 connector.  Refer to the wiring and power board diagram.  If the auger motor still cycles on and off than replace the power board,  if not, replace the user interface board.

Check the wiring diagrams and parts descriptions here:  https://www.appliancepartspros.com/cover-sheet-parts-for-frigidaire-ffhb2740pp5a.html

Thanks Jim,

I am afraid I am exposing my ignorance, but I can't find the J9 connector. I pulled what I thought was the interface control but I can only fin J3&4 and J6,7,&8. With wires connected only in J3 and J4. Is this the wrong board?thumbnail?appId=YMailNorrin&downloadWhen

Auger motor still cycles on with Interface  board disconnected, So I will replace the power board.

Thanks for your help.
