GE built-in oven J TP30SS M1SS light switch makes a click noise when pressed

The oven's baking function works. But the oven lights won't come on. When the light switch is pressed I hear a click sound.

Is it a problem with the oven control board?

or is there a separate fuse for the oven light ?

Did you check to make sure the bulb isn't burned out?

The click you are hearing is he light relay on the control board - if for sure the bulb is OK then I would check the solder connections on the relay for the light on the main control board and the wiring to the light bulb socket.

No separate fuse for the oven light circuit.

The bulb did burn out. There were some fumes from the bulb and it went out. I also heard a pop sound.

I was wondering if there was a separate fuse for the oven light.

Is it safe to use the oven bake function?

Yes, Ok to use any oven function - the light being out should not have any effect on oven operation.
