Kenmore Top Load Leaking...again

Just repaired my Kenmore for the countless time..... First it was chirping, so I tightened the larger drive belt pully (Transmission pully?), a few weeks later it started leaking, so replaced the tub seal, started leaking a few days later so reinstalled the tub seal - maybe lasted a day then did it again. Bought a new OEM tub seal, same thing, but noticed the shaft has a tiny bit of play in it. Should it move side to side at all? Could this be a bearing issue??

Thanks for the help!!

Pretty confident the bearings are out in the gearbox, so had to order a new once since they are not serviceable (stupid).  I think during spin cycles the shaft and basket were moving from side to side and were stretching in tub seal. New gearbox in the mail.
