Whirlpool French Door (with extra fresh food drawer) Model # WRX988SIBM03. Fresh food section completely frosted up.

This refrigerator is 3 years old and has a defrost problem. Is there a video available that anyone knows about to access the evaporator?I have never worked on this style before. The fresh food drawer comes out. It has the very flexible wiring harness that is able to move in and out with the drawer. I have already removed the front of the drawer. I don’t see the typical white clips you push in to remove the drawer, rails and all, like you would the freezer drawer. Also how do you remove the panel that sits above that fresh food drawer? It has to come out in order to access the evaporator. I see no screws. It looks like it snaps in place. Also when I contacted my vendor about the defrost system parts, it was 25 minutes of him searching to find in the parts breakdown where the parts were. He gave me these numbers for the defrost element (WP12729128) and for the sensor/evaporator fan assembly(W10727641). It’s the only sensor he could find that has to do with the evaporator. It’s the only one I could find as well in the parts breakdown. If anyone has any info on this unit, and if those are the correct part numbers, I could use your help. Apparently according to my vendor all parts for all of the manufacturers are being made in China. (Is this true?) Thanks for you response!

16345Ed, I thought I was a member. I have received many responses to several questions in the past, as well as given advise. If I’m not a member you could direct me on how to make that happen.

Maybe you are? Can you post in forums other than DIY? If so don’t ask your questions here. It’s for non members.

Budget Appliance Repair, Thanks for the info. I got in contact with Sam Brown and have applied for a premium membership. Would have done it a long time ago. Looking forward to it.
