Dryer heats fine.  Timer will not advance in auto mode.  Everything else works.  I pulled the 140-20 cycling thermostat.  It opens the circuit at 120 and closes at 100.  Could this be my problem?  This model does not have a moisture sensor.

It could be, but you need to check your vent , and make sure the element is not broke and grounded to the housing before going to the thermostat. All these things you can get heat but no or very little advancing on the auto cycle.
