LG LFX28978ST not cooling. Error code 22

Neither compartment on my LG LFX28978ST is cooling. No air blowing in either compartment. Condenser coils are clean and condenser fan works. Found a great video by the Samurai himself showing how to troubleshoot. There is no air blowing in either compartment.  Pushed the button on the main control board once and air blows in both compartments. Pushed it a second time and it looks to me like that puts it into a diagnostic mode. On the front LED panel, “22” appears twice.  Found some error codes on the LG website and 22 is for a compressor relay. Of course, those codes are not necessarily the same for each model . . .

Doesn’t make sense to me that a compressor relay malfunction would cause the air to not blow in the compartments. But maybe I’m not understanding how it interacts with the blower.
i don’t Have enough info to check the resistance on the sensors for the two compartments as shown in the video, but it doesn’t seem likely that both sensors would fail.

I live in the Virgin Islands where repair techs and spare parts are hard to come by.  Debating whether I should just buy the main board and hope that’s what the problem is. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Done some more research and now understand that the second tap of the test button is not putting it in diagnostic mode.  So what I thought was error code 22 is not. And that eliminates my question about the relay.  When I first cycled thru the test button settings, I had noticed a green flashing LED light on the main control board which I now know was flashing an error code.  Unfortunately, it appears to have reset and now there is no flashing light. (But still no air blowing in either compartment except when in test mode.). Hard to tell, but I think the air that is blowing thru the compartments when I’m in test mode 1 is cool. It doesn’t stay in that mode long enough for me to see if it is actually cooling.  If I could force it to stay in that mode for a bit, I could perhaps rule In or out a compressor issue.

would still welcome suggestions.

If you push the button once it go into the force run mode where everything is on,  compressor and all fans. all leds are on. Push button again (twice) damper is closed and 22 22 is displayed. Push button again ( third ) it goes into forced defrost mode and 33 33 is displayed.

Error code usually start with ER and two other letters.

Fans stop running when door is open to save cold air and reduce energy consumption. Bypass door switches to check fans in normal operation. Some are magnetic switches.

Compressor and condenser fan running, but no cooling at all would be more than likely a sealed system issue. You can test by pushing test button once to force the compressor to run 100% and turn on the fans. The test only last about 4 to 5 minutes so start the test with doors closed and wait until compressor stops then open doors the for some drop in temp.
