I have a Roper top load washer.  The complaint is the Lid stays locked Most times and sometimes will not spin. Also, she stated she saw liquid on the floor underneath, but the customer says she is not sure if it was water or oil.  She said it Looked like discolored dirty water.  She purchased a new washer and I now have to Roper.  I cannot find a tech manual for it.  The model # is RTW4516FW0.  I called the manufacturer and was told they no longer have the tech manual in their system.  This roper washer new cost around $400 give or take. I looked underneath and cannot see no visible signs of oil anywhere around the gear box or on the motor.  Is it worth fooling with?  I know the door lock switch is bad. I am concerned with the leak.  Looking for advise.

This roper is made by whirlpool and the tech should be under the console or under the cabinet top and on side of the base cabinet. Pull the error codes once you get sheet.

You tested it? I doubt it’s bad if it’s locking.

I tested for voltage at the Molex connector. I opened the hood to get to the switch.  I tested to switch visually, it would work about half the time.  I didn't have a Tech sheet, so I did not test the switch for voltage or anything.

Thanks guys.   I am still in the class and learning.   I really appreciate you help.

Vance R, I found the Tech sheet where you told me.  The switch tested bad, the main board is good.  Thank you.
