LG LFXS29766S Refrigerator Bad Compressor

Recommended Posts

I have an LG refrigerator that I recently acquired, however, the compressor appears to be shot.

Now what is weird is that when you google the model number it says it needs model #: TCA38151706 LG compressor

However, it looks as if someone has been in here before (generic start capacitor) and a Samsung  MK183CL2U/E07 compressor installed...

Did someone swap this before? Is this normal to swap to a samsung compressor?

Compressor starts but it is hot on the gas side but not cold on the liquid side. Evaporator is not cold inside the freezer. Condenser is not hot. It has some pressure in the system but I don't want to contaminate my AC gauges on this if I am 99% sure the compressor is dead. Trying to decide if it is worth buying a compressor and calling a sealed system repairman out or not.
