Bosch NET8068SUC Electric Cooktop Glass replacement

Recommended Posts

Glass top is broken and the warranty doesn't cover it. I've fixed many of my appliances and thought I'd take a shot at replacing the top myself to cut my losses.

I have two issues. First is that the glass top doesn't have a frame that can just be unscrewed and removed.  The glass is frameless and held directly to the chassis by a tacky, strong, black adhesive.  I had to use a knife to cut through the adhesive to separate it from the chassis that houses the stove's other components. I need help sourcing the adhesive. The parts diagram lists "Cooktop Main Top Seal" BSH-00613888 which I bought but it's just a lightweight foam seal with double sided tape on just one side. It is definitely not the seal/adhesive that was holding the glass down. Any idea what it is and where I can order it?

Also the replacement top is out of stock on all the parts sites I tried. Can I expect that it will eventually be available at some point or is this project cooked already?

Thanks to anyone with constructive advice :)
