I'm pretty sure the motor is bad on this dryer.  A new replacement is over $200 (P/N W10410996).  This may seem like a silly question but P/N W10410999 is only about $100.  I gotta believe these motors are extremely similar.  What's the likelihood that I would be able to use the cheaper P/N?  My ignorant brain tells me there can't be that much difference between the two.....but that could be complete foolishness!

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Chris

The  W10410996 is a 1/3hp motor while the the W10410999 is only 1/4hp.   Plus, the ***996 motor appears to have a longer shaft.

If I were you, I'd stick with the 1/3hp motor.

And not only that - totally different pulleys, (you would have to order a pulley with setscrew for the 999 motor, the 996 has a screw on pulley).

Even if the pulley that fits the 999 motor would work there is no way these two motors can interchange, (blower end of shaft would put blower wheel in totally wrong position).
