Got the fridge not running. Owner said compressor is bad. I t has dig inverter and it is getting 120v and 5ish dc volt supply signal. The compressor has 7 ohms across each 3 pin leg. It is hegy 6h comp? 230v how do I verify it’s inverter or comp issue?

Setup to check current draw going into inverter. then plug in the fridge. You should see current for a second then nothing, this cycle will happen 2 or 3 times then stop. It means the inverter is trying to start the compressor and can't - bad compressor. If you see no current spike it is possible to be just the inverter or the customer let it go for along time taking out the inverter because of bad compressor.

Betting man. Compressor does not start. Bad compressor 75% vs bad inverter 25%?

or 50-50?

or 10-90 for compressor?

if you hear hoofbeats assume it’s horses and not zebras?

Or some of us have a cheap inverter to try.  Is the condenser clean?  If it is dirty would say 75% inverter, 25% compressor. Cleanish would be 50 - 50. Oh yes if your replace inverter would recommend cleaning condenser squeaky clean.

NOPE! most of the dirty on a barrel style condenser is on the inside. Vacuum whatever you can get to with the nozzle. Then turn your shop vacuum around to blow and have fun. Makes a huge mess !!

Did I mention I already removed compressor? Ugh. Sledgehammer approach.

Naw, you like to jumped in with both feet. Since compressor is removed look like your going with the compressor and inverter.  Clean the condenser to save the new compressor.

I was trying to run compressor just to verify my suspicions. If I get a good inverter, should it make the old compressor run?

what is the 3 pin connector for? It comes from same harness that the 5vdc supply voltage. There is nothing on the inverter that matches up.
