Samsung gas dryer - is there a diagnostic display for heating errors?

Recommended Posts

10 year old Samsung DVW219agw/xaa.  New problem (was a cracked drum that was fixed).

Doesn't heat up consistently.  Sometimes I can hear the gas valve when first started but the heat doesn't stay on.  I don't hear it trying to light again either.  It's kind of impossible to see what's going on (no view port into the gas area).  It does ignite now and again so I think the igniter is good as is the flame sensor.

There is a secret menu for watching the moisture sensor counts, but is there a secret menu I can activate to see if the unit is calling for heat, or shutting heat off due to a flakey thermostat?

Lastly, is there a common problem for no heat?  Can the solenoid coils become intermittent?

Thanks,

Dave

It was the solenoids on the gas valve.  All fixed now.
