Whirpool MSD2242VEU00 Auger/Coupling not functioning properly

I have a Whirlpool Maytag model MSD2242VEU00. The biggest problem is in the freezer, where the ice dispensing mechanism doesn't work. The ice maker is perfectly fine. The dispenser door opens as well. I believe its a problem with the coupling at the bag of the ice holder.

The motor doesn't seem to be broken because the coupling still spins (When facing it, the coupling spins to the right). However, if I spin it by hand counterclockwise it gets loose but it doesn't unscrew from the mechanism. When I spin it clockwise it gets tighter and the motor will sound.

I dismantled the auger blade in the ice holder as well. Nothing seems to be wrong with that either, because I can easily turn the auger blade. Sometimes ice may get caught and I have to rotate it the other way though.

So, there's definitely something wrong with the mechanism in the back. The coupling connects to the back of the auger blade fine. It seems that only after tightening the coupling to the right enough, the blade will spin and ice may come out. Otherwise the ice (which is not frozen to the point where it can't go through) still gets stuck somehow, or the coupling becomes loose and it cannot spin the auger anymore.

If there's a solution to this, great! If not, then I guess it's a sign for a new refrigerator.
