tex77573 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Manufacturer: GE Type of Appliance: Down-draft gas cooktop with fan in center not rise-up Model Number: JGP990SEL1SS Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): yes Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): yes There is a thread on this mod#. It was said to search JGP* which I did. But there was no manual for this style down-draft gas cooktop. This one is like a J/A with the vent in the middle not a rise-up in the back. It has bad burner switches and is not real obvious how to access them. Burner switches are real expensive so if it is too hard cust. may buy a new one. Thanks Boyd
tex77573 Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 Still no tear down. Diagnosis is easy 2 burners do not click and 2 do. Sorry I did not mention that. Thanks Boyd
Captain Dunsel Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Yeah they don’t make a service manual for every model.I found this! 1
tex77573 Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 That looks like it. Thanks Very Much Boyd
tex77573 Posted August 15, 2020 Author Posted August 15, 2020 Did switch job yesterday. The tech sheet was just what I needed. I did cut and splice 2 of the wires because the ends were not real accessible, but that should be no problem. Thanks very much Boyd 1
