The area above the icemaker is a huge block of ice.

Difficult to say without looking at it.

Could be a cracked or misaligned spout, air leak into the Ice Box... etc.

You may want to take a good quality picture and post it on a photo sharing site, then provide the link here for us to look at.

Looks like you have a samsung direct cool ice maker. Best to google it and get familiar with the info, then try contacting samsung to see if they will cover repairs

Very common with the ice makers in the refrigerator compartment. It’s a known issue and a bulletin. Samsung has these kits for this issue that can only be ordered from Samsung. I’d recommend calling a technician to fix the problem.

Thanks everyone

I'm a retired tech

I have dealt with many issues with over filling, spraying, etc and put hundreds of kits on Frigidaire icemake housings.

I just never ran into this on a Samsung as I dont see many. I will take a pic. This is a friends unit and I was there for dinner (maybe I was setup, lol) It's on top of the icemake and growing.

Well, looks like it's a common problem on this ice makers. You'll need a new, updated IM (da97-15217d), and a service kit (da82-02367a).

Then apply silicone around the Ice Box to prevent the air penetration, and possibly adjust the fill tube for proper flow.

As guys above recommended, it's probably better to call Samsung and, hopefully, make some kind of arrangement with a Samsung tech, and maybe it'll be covered by them.
