General Electric L 17JSLRW-1 top freezer refrigerator not working

Hello

My name is Bill (from Canada) and I am a 1st time poster.

I have a rather old “beer fridge” top-freezer/refrigerator that has suddenly stopped working properly.

As you can imagine…this is a top priority issue       : ^ )

The unit is a General Electric L 17JSLRW-1.

The freezer section has frost on the coils but the fan in the back has stopped working.

I believe that it is called an “Evaporator Fan” ?

My apologies as I do have photos but not know how to post an image "from URL"

I have searched the web using the model # but came up with nothing…perhaps because it is so old???

However, while searching for refrigerator parts, I came across the following as a image that seems to look similar:

W10189703 Evaporator Fan Motor Replacement for Amana ARS2304AB (PARS2304AB0) Refrigerator

Would one of you be so kind as to assist me with finding a solution?

Question...If I find the correct part for the freezer, how will it lower the temperature in the fridge?

I would have thought that these two were separate?

Prior to the issue, the fridge section was easily maintained at  31 °

The refrigerator section was running at about 50 °F when I checked last.

(door had been closed overnight)

Many thanks & stay safe to all of you….

Bill
