I have an Electrolux FFAD7033R1A dehumidifier.  It is not throwing any error codes but it sounds like the compressor never comes on; its just the fan that runs continously.  I had heard that there is a safety that turns off the compressor but i have no idea where that is on the unit.  Any guidance would be appreciated. thanks.  I have the back of the unit successfully taken off.

Just an update.  The compressor does seem to be running now but it is incredibly hot (like I can touch it for a millisecond...you would definitely burn yourself if you kept your hand on it for a few seconds).  However, no water seems to be accumulating.

Update.  Ran for about an hour.  Some water is in tray, but the compressor just shut off and the humidity is still much higher than the setting on the dehumidifier.  I suspect it is overheating and shutting down.  Any guidance appreciated on troubleshooting steps. thx.  I can post pix if thats helpful.

@mjh Take a look at this discussion, many have been at the same point you are - this is a very common problem with these garbage Frigidaire dehumidifiers.

If it is under warranty frigidaire will probably replace it, otherwise buy another one as it is not worth a sealed system repair
