I own a GE side by side refrigerator.  I experience a sporadic squeal from the unit.  I appears to continue to work perfectly but curious if this is leading to serious issues.   Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Gene, the model number of the fridge would be helpful. Also, if you could give us a better idea of where the noise is coming from that would be helpful as well. Next time this happens take a look at it and get a good idea if it’s coming from the fridge/freezer sections or near the bottom of the fridge in the back.
