I have an LG Tromm 4.0 Model WM2496HSM washer that is giving me a code de when trying to start a cycle.  When beginning a new wash cycle, I turn on the washer, make selections and hit the start button.  The washer makes the normal clicks (door locking) but the door does not lock.  The washer tries this locking process twice before returning the "de" code.  There is nothing obstructing the door.  The gasket is in good condition with no visible damage or tears and is pliable.  The hook latch on the door appears to be working fine, it moves back and forth with spring action.  I can see two contacts on the top and bottom of the catch on the door opening of the washer side.  The contacts seem to still have spring action to them.  I can use my finder to depress each and they return to their normal position.  I have tried two different methods of resetting the washer.  I have turned off the power to the unit and pressed the start button for 5 seconds (which seems useless since there is no power to the unit, but I tried it anyway.  I also turned off power for 15 minutes and that did nothing as well.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

DE is a door error. Sounds like nothing is phyically wrong. You could have door lock, wiring or main pcb issues.  The most likelt suspect would be the door lock assembly

I was able to repair it myself.  The door lock switch was the problem.  I removed the ring and peeled back the gasket, removed the two screws holding the door lock switch/assembly.  Removed the switch, opened the cover of the switch, and bent the flat spring back a little to give it more resistance or springyness.  Closed the switch and reinstalled.  No more de code.  Thanks.
