Whirlpool Microwave door issues ( WMC30516HZ0 )

I had set up a service call for our door.. easy button.. i thought.   Well, just out of warranty AND.. they do not have parts for this microwave...and they said it is a full replacement and cancelled my service call!   lol jeez!

I saw a video of someone replacing a spring for a WP microwave, figured I would do the same and/or just spread the spring, or get something beefier..

Thoughts?

If your talking about the button on lower right side to open door. You'll have to remove the metal cover and look to see what is broken or out of place.

Yes...  the large button on the lower right.   I saw that i need to take the whole panel on the right hand side off, disconnect 2 leads, then get to the spring mechanism which i believe was on the top part.   but yeah.   it seems it is just a spring that is not doing its job.
