MVWB725BW0 Whirlpool/Maytag Top Load w/Direct Drive & Floating Basket - How to clear error codes?

This is my first time working on one of these direct drive/floating basket models.  I believe it is properly repaired.  I successfully ran a cycle without getting an oL (F70) which was the complaint.  However upon running the automatic diagnostics afterward, it still displays F70 and F51 as error codes.  The tech sheet W10403990B has no information on how to delete these codes.  On page 2 column 1 it only says "NOTE:  Fault codes are retained, after displaying them and/or interrupting power."  Is there a way to delete them or do they just go away after so many cycles?

Background info:

Model # is MVWB725BW0.  Serial number begins C420.  UI is H94.  Tech sheet is W10403990B

Customer complaint was oL and unable to run a complete cycle.  Error code check provided F70 followed by F51.  Customer worked on it first (my favorite).  He replaced suspension rods.  I removed rotor & stator and inspected all including shaft..  All looked perfect.  I removed a small garment from between tub and basket.  Ran rinse and spin, and clean washer cycle.  Still getting oL.  Ran automatic diagnostics.  Water level during C1 became 6-8 inches before basket finally floated.  Cleaned 2 piece basket drive hub.  Hub had little wear.  Ran test cycle with full load.  Basket floated properly and water levels were correct.  Cycle completed with no oL error.  Reran auto diagnostics.  Float was achieved with minimal water in basket, but F70 and F51 errors remain in memory.  It is quite possible the float problem was just that the basket became stuck after not being used after many weeks of sitting idle.  This would explain why I still got the oL after running rinse & spin and clean washer cycles.  They didn't use enough water to free the basket.  After first run of auto diagnostics and cleaning of hub, water level was appropriately minimal for C1 during all subsequent runs of auto diagnostics

Page 4 column 2 of tech sheets gives a procedure to "return cycle settings to factory defaults".  In desperation I tried this hoping it might clear the error codes.  Performed properly, the display should briefly read Fd, but after many tries and even altering variables  it does nothing at all.  Possible reasons appear to be:  this model doesn't save cycle settings so the feature is inactive, my tech sheet is wrong and/or an updated version is needed, or the software is corrupt.  It seems improbable that it is the software, as everything else it does seems okay.

Thank you for your time.  Enjoy your day.

Believe this style of washer does not clear error code from memory. If a new error happens that code is first when checked.
