Hello. I have a
Kenmore Elite 79571052010 That is not getting cold enough. Fridge is 45-50 degrees F. I set the temps to 0 freezer and 34 on the fridge. Unplugged it and waited 5 mins ( no change )

Things I have checked .
I can hear and feel the compressor running ( it's hot) Coils are not hot or warm. But I never really hear it click on or off .
There was no Ice on the coils. I would assume that I should hear it kick on now and then ? but it just runs at the same speed all the time .

1) All 3  Fans are working. Checked the 2 in the freezer and the 1 for the coils on the outside rear.
Cleaned the coils.

2) Checked the capacitors. They charge and discharge.

3) Replaced the Temp sensor in the freezer compartment , No change.

That's all I really know what to check. All I have is a digital multimeter.

Thank you in advance for any help. Stay Safe.

Troy.

This Kenmore model is made by LG, and unfortunately LG linear compressors have a very high failure rate.

Symptoms you are describing point to a bad (inefficient) compressor... running, but not cooling well. If the compressor is really hot, there could be a restriction.

To prove the failure, a technician needs to install gauges to check the pressure inside the Sealed System.

Typically this repair runs $700-$1000 without warranty... time to decide if it's worth it.

Ok Thank you for the information. I will look for a new one.

Thanks
