wfw87hedw1 whirlpool duet washer frontload

Recommended Posts

The outer boot clamp on my whirlpool front load duet washer (wfw87hedw1) came off recently.  I put the clamp back on but the washer is leaking about a tablespoon of water each load.  Not horrible but enough to be annoying.  We do a lot of laundry with 5 kids.  I have tried removing the clamp and resetting the boot but it still leaks.   It has been a few months now and the clamp has not come off again but the leaking continues.

Any idea what can be done to resolve the leaking issue?

Thank you

Matt

You have to closely inspect boot for small rips or tears.

Thank you.  I will do that.  Is there anything you would suggest to repair the tear?  I found a video that repaired a large tear with polyurethane sealant

A “repaired” boot will not stay repaired. It would need replaced.
