Good day all,

I have a problem with my ice dispenser supply line freezing.

The ice maker is inside the freezer (on the bottom) not in the door. There is no water dispenser and there is no water filter in the refrigerator.

It seems the tip (about an inch to inch and a half) of the water supply line inside the freezer is freezing. When I pull the line out and hit the reset button on the ice maker the water valve is energized and water pushes the ice out of the line. If I reinstall the line it will work for 2 batches of ice then freeze again. I have also found (using an analog thermometer) that the temperature inside the freezer and the fresh food area is lower than what it is set at on the controls. I currently have the freezer set at it's "warmest" setting of 8 degrees and it still reads slightly below zero. I will be picking up a digital thermometer possibly tomorrow if available locally. I just read that if the ice bin is not full the freezer will run colder to help produce ice faster so I have turned the ice maker off and will be checking the temp again tomorrow.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Check for heater voltage at the main board, upper right 24 pin connector, pin 7 and 9 ( red wires) should be 12 vdc. unplug the connector and ohm the red wires to check heater, should be 120 ohms.

@Vance R  As far as I know there is no heater in the freezer.

It is wrapped around the fill tube housing in the liner, some early models didn't have it. Check for the wires on the board.
