Thermador 36" Gas Range Broiler Repair

Recommended Posts

Folks, I have a 2005 model Thermador PRG366US/01 36" gas range.  Recently the gas broiler stopped working.  The oven works fine.  The broiler glow ignitor did glow but after some research I figured the ignitor might be weak and not letting the gas safety valve open.  So I purchased a generic glow ignitor, installed it and it still didn't work.  Thinking that the generic ignitor wasn't passing enough current, I purchased the correct OEM Bosch ignitor.  Again, although it did glow strongly, the broiler still wouldn't come on.  I'm suspecting the dual gas safety valve now.  Two questions:  (1) Does this sound right?  (2) Does anyone know where it is located?  I've taken the burner bases off before to replace the Spark Module, replaced a burner gas valve and ignitor and replaced the oven glow ignitor so I am pretty comfortable working around the range.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

It possible its the gas valve but usually it would test open and the igniter glow,  but guess everything is possible,

Gas valve should be in the rear,
