Soba BabyNova 1000 compact washer drain pump issues

This is a front loading compact washing machine.  Yes it's European and probably there isn't a lot of experience with them here but I'm hoping I can get some general direction on my repair.

Machine has had problems draining, off and on.  It used to just not drain, now there is a grinding noise when it's in the drain cycle.  The machine is new to us so I don't have a lot of history with it.

I have changed the drain pump. Changed the hose from the bottom of the drum that goes to the drain motor.  Checked all the drain lines.

One specific question:  What is the small, clear plastic hose that goes from the Large drain hose off the bottom of the drum. The large drain hose has a ball in it (back flow prevention?).  This little clear plastic hose goes up to a round plastic housing on top of the machine.  Is it a vacuum hose of some sort?

But the bigger question is why won't it drain and what is that noise?  All other functions of the machine seem to be working.  I can post photos if that would help.

Thanks,

Travis

I never saw this unit but you mentioned the ball,  if its a non return valve like Miele has in the dishwashers its possible that its sticking,  i had one dishwasher about a week ago that the ball was sticking,  replace it or clean it out really well,  good luck

The clear plastic hose is for measuring water pressure and the amount of water in the washer.  Remove the check ball just for testing the drain if possible. The grinding started after replacing the drain pump, either it’s bad or it’s the noise it normally makes.
