Kenmore ( 796.90272900 ) gas dryer not heating 3 days after I opened it up to change rollers

Hi all,

3 days ago I opened up our Kenmore ( 796.90272900 ) gas dryer to change the roller. It was rumbling like crazy and one of the rollers was totally shot. The roller replacement went well. There was tons of lint everywhere which I vacuumed up with my shop vac. After the repair the dryer worked fine for 3 days and dried clothes completely fine.

Yesterday, it stopped heating. The unit is getting gas from the wall. I opened up the front cover and ran the dryer so I could observe the ignitor. There is no flame and the ignitor does not turn red. The ignitor reads 0.58 ohms (on 20k setting so does that mean 580 ohms?)

Do you guys think it's related to something I did/messed up when opening/closing the dryer? I replaced all four rollers and it worked for 3 days after the repair. Or perhaps it's just a coincidence and perhaps I vacuumed up a lot of the lint that was holding something together.

Anyhow, can you point me in the direction of what's next? I tried to remove the back panel to attempt to look at the thermal fuse, but I don't know if my model has it back there? I was not able to get the back panel off like in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0QB17j4I3w

Thank you all. I am happy that this forum gave me the confidence to attempt the roller repair and now to fix this heating issue.

That video is for a Kenmore dryer built by Whirlpool but your dryer was built by LG. Probably a resettable thermal fuse on the burner tube inside the dryer. Every time they over heat and open they become more likely to open. Try to reset it and make sure the blower wheel is clean and the vent is clear all the way to the outside.
