Samsung Refrigerator model RF263TEAESR freezing food in refrigerator section

I have a Samsung Fridge model rf263teaesr.

The other morning, food inside was frozen solid and soda bottles exploded. The temp display was flashing. So I unplugged the fridge to reset. I plugged it back in after a minute.

I had the temp set for 38 but the display on the outside claimed the temp inside the fridge was 74. a thermometer showed the temp inside as being 29.

So I figured the fridge was cooling constantly since it thought it was 74 inside.

I unplugged it and just monitored the temp inside to make sure it didn't rise too much while i waited for a service guy (I have a home warranty that would cover it)

After a couple days, I plugged it in and the display no longer showed 74, it seemed normal. It is now working as it should. keeping the temp inside at 38

So my question is, did I fix it by leaving it unplugged? I read that sometimes you can get an ice buildup and that will restrict something and cause it to over-cool. So maybe having it unplugged defrosted something.

Or will it eventually start acting up again and there is something that needs to be fixed?

I don't want to pay for a service call when I'll be told nothing is wrong.

Ideas?
