Late 80's Frigidaire Electra-Clean oven calibration

We have what looks to be a late 80's Frigidaire Electra-Clean electric range/oven in our home.  This is a model with an analog timer clock in the center of the panel that sits above the range.

After doing some testing, the oven is way too hot for its settings (for ex, reading 425 when set at 350).  Unlike other electric ovens, there are no adjustment screws on the knob itself for calibration.  Instead, there appear to be screws to the top and bottom of the temperature control itself and a series of small holes on the black rotating plate behind the control post.

Can this be adjusted without getting into the control panel, and if so, what is the procedure?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even if that thermostat was designed to be calibrated, if it's that far off after years of proper service, re-calibrating it would be a waste of time.  Replace it

Replacing is not an option at this time so I would prefer to attempt a recalibration for now.  If it works, great.  If not, I move a new oven up the list of priorities and just set the dial lower in the meanwhile until we can check it off the list.

Cannot help you with out a model number...The two screws you see , above and below the shaft, are the thermostat mounting screws...  If the temperature selected is consistent, just set your temp. 75 degs less...

After doing some extensive testing today, it looks like the temperature is closer to a consistent 50 degrees too high.  Tested it from 175 up to 425 in 50 degree increments, averaging three temp measurements for each level. 

Before doing so, I did notice that the oven temp knob seemed loose on the peg.  Put one of the other knobs with a tighter fit on in its place and the readings were closer to the 50 degree difference.  I'm wondering if the last owners of the house simply replaced the original set of knobs with a  generic set they picked up somewhere before selling and that's why the oven temp knob lacks an adjustment on it.

A peak of 425 isn't that far off for a setting of 350. When you are calibrating an oven,you record the temperatures at the points where the heat turns off and on. The average of those is the oven temperature.  Just calibrate it at 350; the process takes a long time

Probably not an option ever. If you have the same model that I managed to dig up, the part is no longer available, unless you want to roll the dice with a used one on ebay.
