Miele 4600 automatic coffee machine - grinder quit- need to identify electrical component

grinder quit. found a small round component that looks like it melted thru heat shrink. grinder motor is 120VDC yes dc. the component is on both pos and neg feed to motor. 

the device has copper wire wound around a core. about 1/2 inch long, .25 diameter. wire going into and out center. Now there is no continuity on positive side, .2 ohms on negative lead.

Not sure purpose nor where to find replacement. Not sure what current should be.
