MHW5100DC0 washer leaving clothes wetter than usual

Hi All - I have a 5 year old Maytag Maxima front load, MHW5100DC0, that is recently leaving the clothes wetter than usual after the final spin. Here's what I have done so far to troubleshoot:

  1. Put the machine in diagnostic mode, there were no stored errors
  2. Ran the 8 step diagnostic cycle, no errors
  3. Removed the back panel and opened/cleaned the coin catch. There was a nickel and a other small debris, didn't seem like enough to block drainage
  4. Poured some water into the drum, it pretty quickly drained out the open coin catch so I don't think there is blockage under the drum
  5. Spun the drum by hand, seems to move easily
  6. Removed the drain hose from the pump discharge, appears to be clear
  7. Releveled the machine, it was off about 1 turn of the feet. It rarely shook during spin.
  8. Pulled the motor wire connector from the control board, tested resistance between pins 1-2, 1-3, 2-3. All read approximately 10ohm
  9. Checked the drain hose output, seems to be strong flow
  10. Tried an extra drain/spin cycle after a wash cycle and it does not make a significant difference

Looking for other things to troubleshoot, anyone have thoughts?
Thank you

I’m fairly green at this still but something that may be worthwhile to look at is the fill valve.. possibly it’s not shutting off entirely - maybe allowing a small amount of water to continue entering the machine past the specified amount.  Or the house water pressure, if it’s out of required pressure specs it may be contributing to an overfilling washer.  My understanding is the Drain runs for a preset time, having more water than the machine accounts for would point to water being left in the machine..

Or drain siphoning could be occurring.

Thank you both for the suggestions.
how would I troubleshoot to determine if one of these is the problem?

any service bulletins, technical documentation, or similar would be appreciated as well

thanks

Explain what your washer drain looks like. Drain hose from washer inserted a drain stack? Or into a stationary tub?
