There is seal in the sump for the diveter that wears and starts to leaking. Sometimes the water will damage the diverter motor. Most us just replaced the sump assembly and diverter motor. If your want to try just replacing the seal and trying your luck just google it as the manufacturer just sell the sump with seal or the complete assembly.

Tried replacing the seal,  (after market)  with out no success,  i replaced the whole sump Assembly that usealy comes with both seal and diverter,  some models dont come with an Assembly so i order sump and diverter,

Make sure the red wire connector on the diverter isn't all corroded. If it is you'll need to replace the wiring harness as well.
