Frigidaire Pro FPID2497RF5A Dishwasher Control

My Aunt’s Frigidaire dishwasher was stuck in the “Normal Wash” mode.  No matter what was pressed, it stayed in that mode.  I decided the control module must have failed, so I purchased one.  I have completed a similar repair on my dishwasher.  Upon arriving at her house, and opening the shipping package, I found a rather large sealed unit as opposed to a small circuit board in my unit.  This control module can not fit in the door as I assumed. I did not see immediately where the unit is mounted in the dishwasher.  I had limited time so I decided to defer the repair attempt until I gained more information.  My question is where is the control module located?  Is it under the dishwasher and require me to take the dishwasher out of the cabinet to replace it?  Any suggestions will be appreciated. If i remember correctly you will need to pull out the unit,  it will be on the right side on the bottom,  however what you describing might be a bad touch pad,  is the  unit working and washing?  and you just cant move to diffrent cycles?

Issac, thanks for the reply.  To answer your question, yes it ran the Normal cycle completely and correctly.  The issue was you could not select any other function.

I found time to completely pull the dishwasher out of the cabinet.  The control module was located behind a panel, on the bottom of the rear wall.  I replaced the module and the dishwasher controls and functions are all working correctly.

My Aunt had been quoted $600.00 to repair the 4 year old unit and the technician recommended a new dishwasher.  I have it back in service fo under $200.00
