Thank you and Advice Please - Electric Smooth top Ranges

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

First thank you for giving us mere mortals the opportunity to benefit from your knowledge - very much appreciated.  In the market for new range, wanting an electric smooth-top slide-in. After reading reviews I am left wondering who actually writes these reviews?  Salesmen, saboteurs, or actual customers? It seems everything is great, and everything is awful.  Primary concern is reliability.  I understand, and appreciated the statement that appliances are basically computers in and of themselves these days, but I am so sick of control panels.  Currently have Frigidaire dual fuel, and also sick of dirty burner cups and grates.  Ready to try a smooth top.

Can you please deliver me from this morass of anguish and anxiety?  Please - what brands/models to look at, what the avoid with a 10-foot pole?  My preference would be a smooth-top with the most reliable circuitry, or Shangri-la, a smooth top with NO control board.  I know ... looking to stay under $2K

Are Christmas miracles still a thing?

I work on all brands. Like cars all brands can have lemons. Because I don’t know how many of each brand are sold in my service area I have no way to tell which are more reliable.

if I fix 10 Whirlpools in a month and only 1 LG. Does that make LG better? No idea because there could be way more whirlpools out there.

Look for the features you want at the price range you can afford and hope for the best.

good luck
