Model 642/S
Serial M18268xx

Fridge temp setting:  38

Fridge display shows: 38

Fridge temp reading (from a milk jug): 46-48

it did have an error 05.  I replaced the thermistors in the fridge section.

While it is cooling, rE is showing 29.  (after compressor running at least 30 minutes - from a warm fridge)

I'm assuming rE should be lower and this indicates an issue w/ the sealed system in the fridge side?

To add - it's a 2001 model.

Are all the fans running? In particular the FF evaporator fan.

Yes.  I see the fan in the fridge & freezer running when the door switch is pushed.  The fan in the upper section runs when the compressors are on.

Next would be checking frost patterns on evaporators. FF in particular.

Fridge section evap frost pattern was consistent across the entire evap.  And there was not much frost. There was moisture across the entire thing.

How cold should the inside coil get when the compressor is running?

I'll also add that the resistance across all the thermistors (2 old, 2 new) were very close when they were submerged in a glass of ice water slush.

This is curious.  The fridge is now running at near proper temp (38 measured in the 1/2 of milk).  But the display is showing 24.

This is after the replacement of the thermistors in the fridge side (based on the 05 error).  Also interesting that the thermistors read the same R in the cup of water/crushed ice. Maybe the shrink wrap connectors that they put on last time corroded?  Or just random and not related to this part swap...

Wondering what temp it will go to overnight.  I may pull the inside fridge panel off and check the evap for freezing again.  What temp should I expect on the evap coil in the fridge side when the sealed system is operating normally?

Look on the sub-zero web page. There is a locator page with option to find factory certified parts & service.  I've used the location in Dallas.  They are responsive but expensive.  Hard to find parts elsewhere - hope others have suggestions?
