Whirlpool 'Lympia' (WP 75/1) dishwasher continues to give an F1 error.

Hello,
I have a Whirlpool Lympia WP 75/1 dishwasher (might be Italian specific) that began beeping and giving an F1 error. I researched this and it turns out it is probably the NTC temp sensor so I bought a new one and replaced it. Unfortuantely, this has not fixed the problem and the same beeping and F1 error continues.

Is there another part to be replaced, what can be done?

Thanks,
Tom.

Would need a model number to look up error code. if F1 is for the NTC and you have replaced it, there maybe a wiring problem between the NTC and main board.

The water is coming directly from the sink tap next to it so the water temp is fine, normal house cold water. The washer is in the kitchen so it is room temperature.

Apart from the F1 and the beeping, the motor/pump seemingly is in operation when the start button is pressed and sounds normal for the beginning of a wash.

Measure the resistance of the NTC at board connector CB pin 1 and 3  (pg 17). Unplug the connector at the board to measure resistance, chart is on page 12.

Thanks for the guidance. I've not had time to pull the washer out again but it won't be long as hand washing is becoming somewhat tedious.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,

Tom.

Hello again. It's been a while and finally I pulled my finger out.

Vance, if your there, the readings are as follows:

Old NTC = 56kΩ

Replacement NTC = 61.5kΩ

Both sensors were by each other at about 20-21°C.

Cheers,

Tom.

Was rereading the post since it has been awhile.  This caught my attention as dishwaher need to be hooked up to the hot water supply. Would you double check the water supply to the dishwasher?

The dishwasher only has one water connection and that has always gone to the cold. The washer has it's own internal heating element and when working properly, i.e. no faults, always gets up to temperature depending on the program selected.

May want to check the install manual for your dishwasher. Here in the US the manufacturers recommend hooking to hot water supply. installed a new thermistor, between thermistor and the board check good. Check the heater circuit for open element, safety thermostat and wiring. Simple ohm test would be ok, if you can get into diagonstic mode and measure amp draw or heater that would be the best test.

Dishwashers are supposed to be supplied hot water not cold.

I don't know this for sure but think I've read in here somewhere that in the European countries it is normal to hook the dishwasher up to cold water and the heating system does the actual full water heating.

I've never heard of a Whirlpool Lympia and since the OP is a GRASSHOPPAH we don't know if they are in the US or a foreign country.

@Tommygunn are you in a European country where it is normal to hook up dishwasher to the cold water and by any chance are you having extra cold weather, (in the tech sheet portion that you posted it notes if the temp is less then -3 degrees Celsius it will cause this error and to fill with a cup of warm water before starting to keep error from tripping).
