Hey guys I'm working on a 7 year-old Electrolux side-by-side that keeps freezing over. The model number is FFHS2611LWHA. I replaced the defrost thermostat just on principle because I had a new one in stock. No change. If I unplug the unit and defrost it with a fan and plug it back in it works perfectly but freezes over in a day or two. The condenser fan is working as well as the evaporator fan.  I have not ohmed out the heating element yet but plan to do that tomorrow....the unit is at one of my rental properties and it's not readily accessible. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I fear it may be  the control board because my understanding is the defrost timer is integrated into that.  Thanks in advance!

You can ohm the heater out from the board,  J1 pin 4 to J1 pin 9. Heater and bi-metal J1 pin 4 to J1 pin1.

Forced defrost: Press and hold FRZ up then press FF down key 5 times in 5 seconds. Input is recognized when FRZ up is released. Same to deactivate.

Very nice. I already have the back panel screws off so I can ohm out directly at the element but I will try that diagnostic if it checks out.

Thanks for this. Most likely going to use this here in a day or so.
