I have a frigidaire dryer. Sometimes when I start a load,  after 15 minutes the start and cancel buttons blink rapidly. When this happens it has no heat. So I turn it off and back on and hit the front of the dryer door (top, side, bottom) with my hand and the heating element turns on and runs fine.

I know it sounds crazy. I can't figure it out. I do have a multimeter

Sounds like the lights are blinking an error code. Did you count how many times the four indicator lights above the start button blinked, and how many times the single light above the cancel button blinked?

Did you run it in dianostic mode?
