I'm considering purchasing an LG LDF5545ST dishwasher and there's something I'm kind of puzzled about.  It doesn't appear to have the normal circular heating element in the bottom of the tub however it has a button for High Temp wash.

How does this unit heat the water?

Thanks

I believe that unit has heater built into circulation pump assembly.

Thank you for your reply.

Boy, I don't know if I like that design.  It may work great, but if the heating element went bad you would have to replace the whole pump/motor.  The motor has a 10 year warranty but if the heating element went bad would the company consider the motor bad?

Yes, they would replace it for a bad heater.the part i whole is called a case pump. If an lg tech tells them they have a bad case pump they repalce it. Could be bad heater, impeller motor, seal etc all same part.

I am saying this cause when we replaced motors, for the hall sensors they had no issue. The sensor would go out on the washing machines, and sometimes id even tell LG it was the sensor and they would say just go with a new motor. Cause a new sensor came with the motor.

It cost them not much at all to give a motor/ heater
