Kenmore dishwasher 587.14132101 Can hear rapid arcing as final rinse cycle completes. Definitely sounds like arcing

The washer only makes this sound at the end of its cycle, not during initial pump out or at any other time during the cycle. There is a faint smell of burning plastic or insulation. Any help in solving the problem would be great. Thanks in advance.

Very description indicates a loose connection in the drain circuit. Unplug the drain washer and look for burnt and/ or melted plastic. If no success at searching visually,  plug in dishwasher and start a drain cycle and look for acring. Unplug and inspect that spot. Let us know what you find so can help more. PS: picture would be great of the burnt area.

I would also check heater,  heater goes on during the cycle but mainly at the end for drying purposes

Thanks. I will get at this tomorrow morning and report back.

Well, to quote just about every auto mechanic ever: Could not duplicate problem.  I sat through the entire wash and video recorded everything but ... nothing. The pump out sounded a little bit chattering but was completely unrelated to the previous noise. I will keep an ear on it and if it happens again I will get photos or video of it. Thanks again for your help.

Can't seem to edit previous post, but I wanted to clarify about pump-out/drain cycle noise. The chattering noise was not the same sound as the arcing noise, not that it was unrelated to pump/drain cycle.
