Trouble with a Kitchenaid double drawer dishwasher model KUDD01DPPA1

Recommended Posts

This dishwasher is like a Fisher and Paykel. It may even be manufactured by F&P.  It is not cleaning dishes.  I ran diagnostics on it and got

1)Flood switch activated - which points to a few possibilities

2) Fill Failure

Observations,,the spray arms are ok,,not split,  They do just rest above the circ. pump.  They do not lock in.  It is getting water, so assume no inlet valve issue.

Any help appreciated

Agree kinda looks like a F & P dishwasher. Look under the drawer at the flood sensor area for leak stains. The rotors can wear throught the housing and leak. The spray do just set on the pumps, beleive the rack holds them in place.

Thank you for the reply.  I have done some more reading.  Based on the errors it looks like it could be the fill valve AND the flood sensor.  Not sure what I am looking for when I take the drawer out and look underneath.

I will often find the hoses running to the drawers will crack. Normally the bottom drawer since most people use the top drawer a lot and the line to the bottom drawer dries out and becomes brittle. Then when the drawer opens the line cracks. Customers should alternate drawers to prevent this problem. I also see a lot of water valves leak especially during the colder months. Occasionally lids can fail and cause a leak. If the rotor is leaking you will see evidence when looking at the bottom side of the drawer, soap residue is normally visible in the plastic cover.
