Need help with a Frigidaire washer conversion

I currently have an older electro-mechanical Frigidaire Crown series top load washer I'm refurbishing. This washer I want to dedicate to cleaning shop rags. It's a completely plastic tub with decent capacity, adjustable spring tension & has separate motors for the tub & the drain pump... 
 

My issue is I need a rugged drain DC drain pump that can handled trash in the water (metal shavings, wood shavings, stickers, etc.) the stock pump has seen better days & would expect it would only last for a month washing rags.

I'm looking at Grainger & some others & considering relaying the original output to drive a DC converter as well as a DC pump.

If anyone has any ideas or links they could point me towards, I'd appreciate it.

You're probably looking for a "trash pump" although they're usually quite a bit bigger than what you want. Maybe someone has a smaller one?

Anything with an internal seal and impeller isn't going to last long pumping metal shavings.

I see what you're saying & would run outta space underneath the tub while still connecting the hoses. I'm beginning to think I should simply keep stock of extra pumps on hand & replace them once I notice issues with the washer not draining. Alternatively some sort of filtration might work in giving the pumps more service life.

In any case considering the price of rags & the tendency for them to grow legs & walk off I have to do something...
