I need some help. Recently my GE washer model GTW680BSJ5WS stopped locking the lid. It would just keep clicking but never sensing it was locked.

I ordered the lid lock service kit from GE part no 1023359186

Last night I followed the instructions to replace the harness and lock. Unfortunately I am an idiot and I opened the locking mechanism to take a look at it. When I did, the cylinder metal piece and the spring fell out. I thought I had them in place correctly, as the lock will manually spring into place, lock and unlock if I am holding it. But when it is in the washer I hear a quiet click and that is all.

I would take any help!

Thanks
