I have a Kenmore Elite (mod# 592-49003-02) front load washer about 8 yrs old.  Recently it began banging/thumping at about the 4 minute mark of the spin cycle.  Sometimes there's a burning smell.  The machine is level and on a cement floor.  I can't find anything RE: this make/model # online, let alone a part # for what may need fixing.  I believe this model is a Samsung and Canada may have different model #'s.  Any help would be most appreciated.

Did you check the shocks to see if they were loose or broken?

Not yet.  I was waiting for some guidance.  Do I approach this from the back?  What am I looking for?

Thank you for your reply.

Also check the basket for movement up and down, in and out. If the basket is loose it will rub on door boot causing a burnt rubber smell.
